Austrian premiere

Lullaby for Scavengers is the third part of his performance trilogy about loneliness, yearning for care, the fragility of the human condition, and the divide between humans and animals. In an interplay of stage presence and DIY videos projected onto a screen, performance artist Kim Noble injects his sperm into a dead rodent, harasses his own mother, talks about his bread job as a cleaner, sends a vacuum cleaner bag into space, says goodbye to his dying father, mourns a dead fox, adopts a maggot, and commits con jobs in restaurants with his “daughter.” All this is translated to the screen with an unerring sense of melancholy and comedy as Noble and his companion, a stuffed squirrel, orchestrate the multimedia show from a centre-stage control desk. When his maggot daughter pupates, the showmaster confesses, “I wish I had a hard shell.”
