The most wondrous psychedelic trips available in electro-acoustic music today are owed to the British producer James Holden. The trained pianist began his career at the end of the 90s as a techno DJ; since the 10s, he has been composing music for old modular synthesizers and alternating jazz and improv line-ups. With his current ensemble The Animal Spirits, he pursues playing styles from the spiritual jazz of the 70s to the Moroccan Gnawa tradition: music for spiritual journeys – and for the endless now you experience when the eyes and ears drift within.
