SOUND

Dark, roaring guitar noise with ear-shattering feedback; a stoic marching drum machine; distorted voices and shrieking bass; the dazzling light of white noise – already at the end of the 80s, Godflesh combined every imaginable type of contemptuous noise into their own individual and influential style. Their epic debut album Streetcleaner from 1989 is considered the origin of industrial metal. More than three decades later, their music still has an amazing freshness: it sounds as hopeless, desperate, and posthumanly cold as it did on the first day.
