For a decade now, the Montreal trio BIG | BRAVE has been cultivating the power of bass-driven meditation with the tools of classic guitar rock. No wonder they release most of their albums on the Sunn O))) label Southern Lord, including their latest work Vital from 2021. BIG | BRAVE bathe their audience in a viscous sludge of bass glowing with smouldering feedback, whilst bassist and singer Robin Wattie blazons, screaming and wailing with all the power at her disposal, the insatiable desire to escape from the prisons of matter and the body.
