With her vast image archive, Stefanie Seibold devised two poster collages for the Krems cityscape and a version on the festival premises to examine the conflicts between feminist critique and lesbian-queer desire. The title Expropriating Appropriators refers to the gesture of (re)appropriating sexualized fashion photography, body images, and texts. A Vogue interview with Elfriede Jelinek from 1989 illustrates the friction rising between self-empowering body images and feminist critique.
