Fehler Kuti is the musical project of artist and curator Julian Warner. The project name alone, which is derived from the Nigerian Afrobeat musician and political activist Fela Kuti, hints at the direction of Warner’s idea, namely to unite music and politics. At the same time, bearing in mind that this, of course, is no longer seamlessly possible in this day and age. Warner and his comrades-in-arms, such as Markus Acher and other musicians from the Weilheim band The Notwist, make productive use of the “faulty” nature of this idea. Fehler Kuti is Markus Acher, Theresa Loibl, Maasl Meier, Sachiko Hara, Sascha Schwegeler, and Julian Warner.
